Orijen Dog Food

What is Orijen Dog Food?
Orijen provides high quality dog food with grain free ingredients and dense protein (about 40%), there are several choices if you want to try this brand, but if you confused to choose one, try to pick All Life Stages-Fish and All Life Stages-Red meat, both are excellent choices and good for general dog.

The protein and fat composition in this product is 40% of protein and 18% of fat.

How about Quality?
Well that's something you can't ignore, and yes you can't go far better than this food. In quality award, Orijen Dog Food receive champion pet food award from Glycemic Research Institute for years! (2009-2010, 2010-2011, and nominated for 2011-2012) Read more information about the award here. This award is just a little proof that Orijen is one of the best options available in the market.

Precaution
Although Orijen is one of the best foods for your dog, beware of overfeeding high protein food. If you want to feed your dog with this, try to give a smaller meal, this is the precaution but also the advantage of Orijen. You don't have to feed it as much as grain filled cheaper food. Compared to cheaper food which contains about 20%-30% of protein, with this, you only need to give 50-60% of your dog standard serving size. Serving your dog with this as much as cheap food is overfeeding.

If you want to change the food to Orijen, always try to give 25% Orijen and 75% old dog food, this to prevent upset stomach and do this until 5 days, then gradually change until you can be sure that there is no complication at all and your dog start to love it.

If your dog doesn’t want to eat the new Orijen, just let her eat the old food and keep doing the “introduction”, this is normal and there is no need to worry about malnutrition, a dog can survive for days without any food and still healthy. Unless your dog really doesn’t show any interest (which is most unlikely) with the new food, switch back to old food.

Don’t store Orijen on a fridge; this food is best kept on a dark and cool place inside a resealable plastic container to prevent oxidation.

But My Dog Already Overweight?
There’s no need to worry about this, the high protein and low carbohydrate in this brand will promote more energy in your dog, this will provide a chance to build more lean muscle mass which burn calories faster. Just make sure you follow the feeding guide here and add some extra activity.

Wraps Up
If you are a budget wise smart buyer, Orijen is the best choice. Just calculate the additional price per pack will save you money because you can use it for far longer period of time, plus this will make your dog willing to do more activity and promote the lean muscle. And don't forget, this food will also help your dog to grow soft and shiny fur, in other word, this food will give you the biggest bang for the bucks.
